Women and children trafficking
across the South-west Border of Bangladesh
is a growing concern. Police–BDR
personnel recently foiled certain attempts
of trafficking, and some brokers were
also arrested and the victims were released.
With this in mind, SETU undertook an
Anti-trafficking campaign. It is basically
a social mobilization program. SETU
intends to motivate and mobilize the
people of every walk of life to resist
this heinous crime. To this end, SETU
plans to involve organizations/institutions/union
councils, GOs and NGOs in this program,
which will provide necessary information/knowledge
through training, workshops, seminars,
meetings, publications etc.
SETU has already conducted
some investigations on these issues
and has collected information to carry
out a concerted program.
