Fishing Community Development Intervention

The project is comprised of the following four components:

i) Institution Building;
ii) Capital Raising;
iii) Training; and
iv) Conscientization/ Mass mobilization.

The achievements of the Project have been as follows:

Developed the knowledge of fishing community among 1,648 families of villages under Kushtia Sadar Thana, particularly on fish production, protection and use. Side by side, established a system and discipline among the reference people so that they can play their role in the protection of marshlands, acquiring assists in generating a financial base for the community development, which would contribute to improving the economic and nutritional status of the people of the locality.


This is a social mobilization project on gender issue and gender equity. The broad objective of this project is to establish gender perspective among the project participants and staff of SETU by which this issue can be addressed in all aspects of the organization. The project includes institution-building, capital raising, organizing training, workshops, meetings and seminars, providing legal aid and legal education and arranging study tours.
