program was started in Kushtia Sadar
Thana and Khoksa Thana, Kushtia in 1990.
This program included group formation,
group savings collection, functional
education, training, income generation
etc. activities.

Villages covered: 35 nos.; Group organized:
195 nos. (Male – 2 nos. &
Female – 193 nos.); Total project
participants: 5,745 nos.(Male –
60 nos. & Female 5,685 nos.; Group
savings generated: Tk.41,05,345; Functional
education given to 3,460 group members;
Training imparted to 2,887 group members;
Taka 2,16,10,000 were distributed as
small loan to 370 families; Recovery
rate was 98.56%.
