Participatory Forestry Program (PFP)
Under this program,
152 villages under 20 unions of three
Thanas, namely Mirpur Thana, Kushtia
Sadar Thana and Kumarkhali Thana of
Kushtia District were brought since
1991. Major components of this program
are plantation at homestead & cropland,
village nursery establishment, central
nursery development, tree renovation,
core farmer development training etc.
Achievements of the Projects have been:
a)
Village Nurseries established: 90 nos.,
b) Central Nurseries established: 3
nos., c) Seedling produced: 22,14,342
nos., d) Seedling planted: 3,22,480
nos., e) Survival rate: 98%, f) Crop
land (agro-forestry) planted: 1120 acres,
g) Tree renovated: 2175 nos., and h)
Project participant:: 5,890 nos.
