STD/HIV/AIDS Prevention Program

STD/HIV/AIDS are the most dangerous infectious diseases. AIDS is now recognized as one of the major killer diseases in many countries of the world. All the districts of Khulna Division has been recognized as “Risk Area” of STD/HIV/AIDS infection. As a border district, Kushtia is also vulnerable to this disease due to cross bordering trade and easy road communication with the neighboring country. With an objective to have a STD/HIV/AIDS free society, SETU has been implementing this program through education, motivation and information services. This program covers:

>> Transport workers
>> Hotel Workers
>> Vagabonds
>> Slum dwellers
>> Hijra
>> Rice mill (Chatal) Workers
>> Cross Bordering Traders (CBT’s)
>> Floating People including CSWs
>> Drug Users.
